GRS is the global recycling standard:
English name: GLOBAL Recycled Standard (GRS certification for short) is an international, voluntary and comprehensive product standard that stipulates third-party certification requirements for recycling content, production and sales chain of custody, social responsibility and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions. The content is aimed at supply chain manufacturers’ implementation of product recycled/recycled content, chain of custody control, social responsibility and environmental regulations, and chemical restrictions. Key points of GRS certification:
GRS certification is a traceability certification, which means that GRS certification is required from the source of the supply chain to the shipment of finished products. Because it is necessary to monitor whether the product ensures a total balance during the production process, we need to provide Downstream customers issue TC certificates, and the issuance of TC certificates requires a GRS certificate.
The GRS certification audit has 5 parts: social responsibility part, environmental part, chemical part, product recycled content and supply chain requirements.
What are the aspects of GRS certification?
Recycled content: This is the premise. If the product does not have recycled content, it cannot be GRS certified.
Environmental management: Does the company have an environmental management system and whether it controls energy use, water use, waste water, exhaust gas, etc.
Social responsibility: If the company has successfully passed BSCI, SA8000, GSCP and other social responsibility audits, it can be exempted from the assessment after passing the assessment by the certification body.
